About us

Two teachers, thirty years, one kitchen table

We are a married couple, both South African public school teachers, both still teaching full time. Between us we have more than thirty years in the classroom.

Who does what

One of us has taught the Foundation and Intermediate Phases — every subject, for over fifteen years — including seven years in international schools in Saudi Arabia and Dubai, working with British and American curricula and with children learning in a second language.

The other teaches Physical Sciences and Mathematics to Grades 10 to 12, is a CAPS and NSC specialist, and has marked a great many scripts.

Together we cover Grade R to Grade 12, in English and Afrikaans.

Why we started this

We kept making the same things over and over for our own classrooms, and kept meeting parents who wanted to help their children and did not know where to start. The material available online was either foreign, badly written, or clearly produced by somebody who had never taught the subject.

So we started making it properly, and selling it.

What makes ours different

  • Every answer is verified. We re-work each memo independently before it is published. One wrong answer in a paid pack costs a learner marks and costs us our reputation.
  • We check each other's work. Neither of us publishes alone. The science teacher checks every number; the primary teacher checks every word written for a parent.
  • Afrikaans is checked line by line by a first-language speaker who teaches the subject. Never machine translation alone.
  • We tell you where learners lose marks — the specific, procedural things that cost marks every year. That comes from marking, not from guessing.
  • Ink-light by default. Every pack has a black-and-white version built to use as little ink as possible.

A note on our other job

We are employed teachers and we take that seriously. Everything here is made outside school hours, on our own equipment, with the written permission our employment requires. Nothing sold here was created for or during our school work.
